Projects activities in the fall semester 2026/ 27
HWS 2026/ 27
In the fall semester 2026/
They focus on critically reflecting on the use of AI, its benefits and results. They acquire specialist, methodological and reflective skills and critically reflect on the responsible use of generative AI in studies and research.
We intend to publish the majority of the resulting materials as Open Educational Resources (OER) and make them available for subsequent use in higher education teaching as well as for future cohorts. This includes both the students’ project results and corresponding materials that make it possible to transfer the teaching method to other departments.
Cooperations in the fall semester
- ANG 305 Data Literacy, Dr. Lena Blott
- ANG 505 Linguistic Methodology, Stefanie Radetzky
- ANG 103 Media Skills, Dr. Ira Gawlitzek
- ANG 404 Linguistics and AI, Prof. Dr. Carola Trips
The effectiveness of the interventions of the AiDaLi team is being analyzed and evaluated by Dr. Christian Spreng as part of an accompanying scientific research project.
Focus of activities
Collaboration with the AiDaLi team can be structured according to different thematic priorities. These thematic priorities are supposed to be an orientation and can be freely combined depending on the department, course and project goal.
AI in research design and degree planning
- Overview of current AI tools for learning, teaching and research Application of with Microsoft AI, Copilot, ChatAI, and other systems Using AI to support academic work processes Evaluating the benefits, limitations and fields of application of different tools
AI tools for study and research
- Using AI to develop and plan empirical studies Finding ideas and generating hypotheses AI-assisted literature research and knowledge processing Creating study materials and stimuli (e.g., audio, image or software components) Reflecting on the boundaries between creative support and cognitive offloading
AI in data analysis and programming
- AI-assisted data analysis and statistical evaluation Support with programming and coding tasks Development and optimization of analysis scripts Best practices for AI-assisted research workflows
Ethics, quality and good scientific practice
- Responsible use of generative AI in research and teaching Ethical questions and academic integrity Opportunities, risks and limitations of AI-based assistance Transparent documentation of AI use Deciding against using AI: consciously and scientifically sound
Open Educational Resources (OER) and Knowledge Transfer
- Development and provision of open educational resources Quality criteria, licensing and legally compliant publication Subsequent use of materials in teaching and further education Transfer of successful teaching methods to other departments and programs
Example tasks
During the semester, students develop an open educational resource (OER) for their examination. Depending on topic and objectives, they can apply different forms of media such as podcasts, posters, screencasts or other digital learning materials. The aim is to create a high-quality product which can be used in teaching and by future cohorts after the course has ended.

Project results
AiDaLi continuously develops open teaching and learning materials that promote competencies in the areas of AI literacy and data literacy. The resources developed address technical as well as methodological and ethical issues and are made publicly available via the central repository for open educational resources in Baden-Württemberg (ZOERR) in the spirit of open science.
Furthermore, the materials developed as part of the project will successively be published as Open Educational Resources after the respective courses are completed from January 2027. This includes didactic concepts, learning materials as well as examples of good practice for the conscious use of generative AI in higher education.
